On the metageometric foundation of physics
Tomi Koivisto (Tartu University)
Abstract: Fundamental interactions in the Standard Model of particle physics are described by quantum gauge theory. I will present our novel approach to gauge interactions at the foundation of a new Standard Model which includes General Relativity. It entails a completion of the latter theory and suggests a possible rationale for the emergence of the Universe and its (apparently, mostly dark) contents. Rather than by adding new speculative assumptions, the proposed foundation arises by removing the scaffolding of observer-independent spacetime ingrained into current formulations of fundamental physics.
